Childrens Music
Music for Kids

"Kids will want to sing along with the traditional and original songs by a talented Novato, CA composer and lyricist Skip Heil. A young chorus joins the fine instrumental arrangements celebrating the everyday events of growing up - feeling sad, eating junk food, and going to bed at night.
Ages 4 - 7."

"In addition to the title song and with the exception of "Shoo Fly/Shortnin' Bread" and "Row, Row Your Boat," all the songs are originals. Skip wrote them all. Songs like "Hungry Slippery Fish," "Smile For The Camera," "Boo Hoo Song". "Junk Food", and others, bring a happy lilt to everyday things. All the songs have a nice, perky beat and instrumentation is better than most. Harmony and arrangements are right on target. All these adjectives come swimming to my mind: clever, charming, fun, happy. I liked it, I really liked it. So will you."

"Composer and lyricist Skip Heil's diverse, easy-to-sing songs include such common childhood experiences as growing bigger, skinning one's knees, craving junk food, etc. There are also some just-for-fun selections, such as "Hungry,Slippery Mr. Fish" and "Conga Line." The lyrics are straightforward and are complemented by professionally rendered instrumental arrangements. The youg vocalists performing with Skip provide added appeal as they sing in a clear, precise style appropriate to the musical genre. The collection will be appreciated by young listeners at home and in the library. A pleasing variety of songs for listening or singing along." - Donna Miller
